Market Development

  • In March’2021, Botanical Solution Inc. and Syngenta signed a partnership agreement to launch a bio fungicide product in Mexico and Peru named BotriStop, which helps in controlling Botrytis cinerea. The commercialization of the product has been a success in Chile. This bio fungicide product has been proven to be efficient and consistent in the control of Botrytis cinerea, especially for conventional growers of vines, vegetables and blueberries.
  • In November’2020, BioWest Ag Solutions launched a liquid, preemergent bioherbicide product, "Battalion Pro." This product is an active ingredient Pseudomonas fluorescens strain ACK55 that could be used as natural alternative for the selective suppression of the invasive annual grass weeds. Battalion Pro was registered under U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in September’2020. It could be effective in the prevention of future wildfires in the western U.S.
  • In March’2020, Bayer AG unveiled its first biofungicide, Serenade, in China. This biofungicide creates a protective barrier around the root of plants through the process of symbiosis in the root periphery. This product offers increased absorption of effective nutrients from the soil while allowing the root system to grow more vigorously. The use of Serenade is said to improve the "immunity" of plants, which further declines the incidence of plant diseases.
  • In April’2020, Syngenta and Novozymes A/S collaborated to commercialize a biofungicide named TAEGRO to address critical grower needs in vegetable and specialty crops. The two companies originally partnered in 2012 to develop and market the product. They received first wave of product approvals in Europe region.
