  • In May 31, 2024, STMicroelectronics announced plans to invest approximately €5.4 Million in a new chip-manufacturing facility in Catania, Sicily. The plant will focus on producing silicon-carbide semiconductor products, essential for electric vehicles and data centers. The project includes around €2 Million in state support from Italy and is expected to commence production in 2026.
