  • In January 2025, renewable energy developer Dark Green Group announced plans to develop up to 12 anaerobic digestion (AD) plants across the U.K., with the goal of processing more than 700,000 tonnes of organic waste annually
  • In September 2024, Abrdn’s global infrastructure projects division decided to invest in an anaerobic digestion plant in the U.K., developed by The Circular Economy Development (TCED). The project, valued at over USD 76 million, commenced construction in the third quarter of 2024 and is expected to begin commercial operations by late 2026. The initiative includes the design, construction, ownership, operation, maintenance, and financing of the facility, which will use anaerobic digestion technologies to convert food waste into biogas
