According to an article published by BMC, in February 2024, as per the 10-year cohort study in Iran, a total of 225 cardiovascular events were reported over a follow-up period of 15,420.11 person-years. Of these events, 135 occurred in men and 90 in women. The 10-year cumulative incidence rate was 16.8 (14.4–19.2) per 1000 person-years for males and 12.0 (9.5–14.5) per 1000 person-years for females. This data reflects a rising prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, with significant incidence rates in both men and women. The increasing number of cardiovascular events underscores the growing need for effective treatments, driving up demand for advanced medical devices such as balloon catheters.
