- In January 2023, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya inaugurated one of the three units of the 22.5 MW Ganol Hydro Power Project in the West Garo Hills district, adding 7.5 MW to the region’s power grid. With a project value of approximately USD 67 million, this initiative supports the government’s aim to enhance Garo Hills' presence in India’s power landscape

- In September 2022, GE Renewable Energy’s hydropower division signed a five-year maintenance agreement with Norte Energia for the Belo Monte hydropower plant (11 GW) and its Pimental powerhouse (233 MW) in Brazil. This agreement ensures continuous, corrective, and scheduled maintenance to support energy delivery for up to 60 million people
- In September 2021, Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation announced that its subsidiaries—Toshiba Asia Pacific Indonesia (TAPI) and Toshiba Hydro Power (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd.—received a major order to supply four hydro turbines for the Kerinci Merangin Hydroelectric Power Plant located on Sumatra Island, Indonesia.
