This agreement, valued at approximately USD 187 million, is provided by the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and supports the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of essential space infrastructure. This infrastructure is crucial for the Space Force's fundamental skill in monitoring the space domain
- In January 2024, Rocket Lab successfully conducted its inaugural launch of 2024, deploying four satellites dedicated to space situational awareness (SSA) for NorthStar Earth & Space and Spire Global. The launch was executed with an Electron rocket from Launch Complex 1 at 19:34 NZDT, positioning the satellites into a circular orbit around the Earth at an altitude of 530 km
- In August 2023, EnduroSat AD and Vyoma partnered on Europe's inaugural commercial mission aimed at improving space situational awareness (SSA). Through this collaboration, Vyoma is expected to implement space-based optical telescopes to track and chart objects in space, delivering SSA data and services almost instantaneously. EnduroSat will be responsible for creating and sending the ESPA microsatellites into low-Earth orbit. The initiative will begin with the launch of the first two satellites by the end of 2024, which marks the commencement of a planned 12-satellite constellation
- In September 2021, Kratos Defense and Security Solutions has secured a USD 2.8 million Department of Defense funding for a prototype development effort to provide commanders with quick access to space-related situational awareness data. It will prototype a system for the US Air Force and Space Force’s Unified Data Library by working on virtualized infrastructure software and hardware to send information to the cloud-based UDL for display and analysis
- In August 2021, Telespazio UK, a subsidiary of Telespazio, was awarded a Service contract by the European Space Agency to run the science operations centers of astronomy, heliophysics, and fundamental physics missions of ESA at the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC)
